A Little History

- National TV appearances include: Countdown, Bandstand, Hey Hey It's Saturday, Bert Newton's GMA, Denise and Ernie and IMT,COXYS BIG BREAK
- Ken started playing for John Farnham in the mid 70's.
- He then went on to form 70's hitmakers TASTE writing all their material including 4 top 20 singles and 2 top 20 national albums.
- Embarking on a successful Piano Bar career in the 80's Ken played all major nightclubs and venues across Victoria and interstate, playing to large audiences.
- In the early 90's he then joined top showband THE BLUE ECHOES playing keyboards, guitars and vocals. They toured Australia consistantly, playing all major Casinos, RSL's and Corporate venues to large crowds. Comedy was a major part in the Echoes act, of which Ken was a large contributor.
- Wrote winning song "The Loving Kind" in the Sth.Pacific Song contest beating 80 other countries.
- Toured New South Wales with Cotton Keays and Morris as keyboard player in 2001.
- Supervised all music for 2002 Equestrian Grand Event which played to over 10,000 people.
- Recently written the soundtrack to accompany the Australian Tennis Open 2002 to be broadcast around 30 countries throughout the world.
- Just completed music for the 2003-2004 advertising campaign for YAKKA AUSTRALIA

Formed in April, 2008. Perth, Western Australia, Knight Shift is a five piece band comprising of four youthful, energetic people and one “life experienced” gentleman. TJ (Guitars), Alyssa (Keys, vocals), Kate (Keys, vocals), Lorraine (Bass) and Harry (Guitar, Main vocal) make up the band which changed it's name from “The Jackson Jills Band“ in January 2009.

The band can best be described as a Classic Rock cover band that plays material that is known across the generations that is still as relevant today as it was when it was first released. With many old classics still getting significant airplay and others enjoying "rebirth" through a re-release by another artist or through film soundtracks, the band has a wide range of material to consider for performance.

Although being essentially a “cover band”, many of the songs we play we endeavour to add our own flavour whilst also being mindful of maintaining the essence of the originals. The contemporary and distinctive “flavour” of the band is achieved by virtue of TJ's heavier rock background, Harry's Bowie, Floyd and Prog Rock influences and the girls more contemporary (90's and the "noughties) influences. The end result that these influences have on the bands arrangement of the songs, in conjunction with the instrumentation and vocal abilities utilised by the band, is a performance that provides an opportunity for audiences to sing along to familiar and life defining songs played in a “driving, full sounding, slightly edgy and contemporary” manner ideal for dancing and partying.

As such, the band sees itself as a party band suitable for weddings, birthdays, club functions and smaller pub/tavern venues with appeal to a wide age group starting with those in their 20’s right through to 60 year olds and above. The band is quite comfortable getting into the “swing of things” by dressing for a themed occasion but are equally happy in a formal or “neutral” environment.

Koco is one of Melbourne's longest running show bands with over 3000 performances in hundreds of venues across Victoria, Australia and overseas. The K-Tels are a 7-10 piece band that will make your function a resounding success. They play a variety of musical styles that is guaranteed to satisfy everyone's musical taste.
From light dinner music to dance, the repertoire encompasses all the classic tunes from the Sixties right through to the Naughties. The K-Tels provide total entertainment for the young and old and can accommodate any theme. The K-Tels are dress adaptable and have participated in beach parties, toga parties, rock'n'roll nights etc. They have also performed in their birthday suits, but as this was at an outdoor festival and in the middle of winter, the results were rather disappointing. The standard 7 piece line-up includes two lead singers,
two guitars, bass, drums and saxophone. This can be augmented by the 10 piece line-up featuring the "Morning Horns" brass section. All members of the K-Tels are accomplished musicians, have a wide range of experience, a vast array of personality deficits and are in dire need of therapy and gainful employment. The commonality amongst all members is that they are fun, easy to work with and butt-ugly. What more could a function require….....................

The Kwerky Woodworms are a newly formed Melbourne cover band. Playing chart topping songs from the likes of: The Foo Fighters, Powderfinger, Dragon, Silverchair, Choirboys, Mr Big, Bon Jovi, The Living End, Pearl Jam, The Killers, Jason Mraz, Crowded House, Guns ‘n’ Roses and many more.

Greg comes to us from Melbourne’s ‘Yellow Tuesday’s duo’. Greg brings exceptional flexibility to the Kwerky Woodworms from his background in many different styles of music.

Aaron Walton – Drums
After almost a decade of experience behind the drums and more recently for ‘Ten Fold Republic’, Aaron delivers some of the tightest beats your likely to hear.

Andrew Welsh - Lead Guitar / Vocals
Also the lead guitarist of Melbourne’s own ‘V1 trio’, Andrew comes to the Kwerky Woodworms offering precise lead guitar play and vocal harmonies.
