What's
it all about? The Coverband Collective is a group of friends
who happen to play in coverbands and therefore don't really get the chance
to celebrate Christmas or the years achievements together, due to the hectic
gigging schedule they maintain. So the point of the party is just
to get together, have some fun and share a rare moment together.
And
you're invited! If you enjoy good music, hanging out with your
friends and seeing a bunch of bands for free, then you should get yourself
to this years party!
It's
not a 'battle of the bands' or a 'showcase' gig. It's just a party!
There will be plenty of other bands there, just hanging out and taking
it easy, so don't hesitate if you're not familiar with the lineup.
This
year the bands featured on the bill include once again Ramjet,
Chump, Bedrock
and new addition for this year, Freeeze.
There will also be some special guest appearances from members of other
coverbands and to top it all off our MC this year could be YOU!

So,
make sure you keep the evening of Wednesday the 18th of December free...
it won't be a late night, so don't freak about working the next day.
But if you're still worried about it, then the bands will be providing
official absence slips for your boss. Bosses are unable to argue
with the power of The Collective.
Last
year (2001) the Collective's party was held at The Elephant & Wheelbarrow
in St Kilda and featured Ramjet, Chump Bedrock and Saucy Jack. The
night was a great success, considering the short time frame the bands had
to organise themselves, and the small window of opportunity to get four
bands together in one spot, especially at the busiest time of year.
